"Bark for Life" dog event Saturday AM June 21
It's a "Bark for Life." Your dog can now get in to the act at Bluffton's Relay for Life on Saturday morning, June 21.
The event is at the Bluffton University football field, Augsburger Road entrance. Here's how it works, according to Lynda Best:
Dog registrations take place from 7 to 8 a.m. For a fee of $10 anyone may walk a dog on the track from 7:30 to 9 a.m.
"The bark for life is a noncompetitive walk event for dogs and their owners to raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society," said Best.
"Each registered dog will receive a purple Relay bandana. Dogs must be leashed and owners must bring doggie bags for clean up," she added.
Several categories for the Bark for Life include:
• Biggest dog
• Smallest dog
• Owner/dog lookalike contest
• Best costume
• Best tail wager
• Most Relay spirit dog
