Kenneth Adams 1927-2014
Kenneth Ray Adams, 86, of Ottawa, Ohio, died May 23, 2014 at the Meadows at Putnam Acres, Ottawa.
He was born December 13, 1927 in Rimer to the late Burl and Velma (Davis) Adams. On May 29, 1952 he married Betty Lou Laux and she died February 12, 1989. On February 1, 1991 he married Frances Downing and she survives.
Kenneth was a laborer at New Idea Implement, Rockford, and had also been a farmer. He was a member of the Pandora United Methodist Church and the Moose and Eagles Clubs in Celina. He was a Rockford High School graduate.
Survivors include two sons, Ron (Darlene) Adams and Michael (Kimberley) Adams, both of Celina; a step daughter, Kathy Ramey of Indianapolis, Indiana; three step sons, Steven (Sue Campbell) Basinger of Ottawa, Darrin (Jayme) Basinger of Harpster, and Terry (Rena) Basinger of Marysville; four grandsons, Douglas (Sharee Werling) Adams, Eric Adams, Brayton Adams, and Brecken Adams; seven step grandchildren, Nick Ramey, Phillip Ramey, Rachel Ramey, Cody Basinger, Kate Basinger, Karlee Basinger, and Lynzie Basinger; a great-granddaughter, Emma Adams; two step great-granddaughters, Sadie and Catie Ramey; two brothers, John Adams of Rockford and Bob Adams of Mendon; and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Adams of Mendon.
He was preceded in death by a brother, William Adams; and two sisters, Elnore Jenkins and Ann Townsend.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 31 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
