University awards scholarships
Two incoming students at Bluffton University have been awarded the university’s full-tuition Presidential Scholarship, valued at more than $110,000 for four years.
Micah Hunsberger of Shipshewana, Ind., and Brianna Keith of Grafton, Ohio, are the scholarship recipients.
Hunsberger, the son of Benjamin and Beth Hunsberger, is a 2014 Westview High School graduate. He was a member of the school’s soccer, track and field and Academic Super Bowl teams. He attends Emma Mennonite Church, Topeka, Ind.
Keith is a 2014 graduate of Keystone High School, where she was active in the band, Symphonic Choir, Drama Club, National Honor Society, Mock Trial, French Club and Tech Team. The daughter of Carl and Renee Keith, she was also a member of the Northern Ohio Youth Orchestra.
Hunsberger and Keith were the winners of Bluffton’s 16th annual Presidential Scholarship competition, which brought 84 high-achieving high school seniors to campus to write an essay in response to a faculty lecture and previously assigned readings. Invited students had grade point averages of 3.5 or higher and a composite score of at least 25 on the ACT or 1130 on the SAT.
The Presidential Scholarship is renewable with a GPA of 3.0 or above at Bluffton.
