Six MHCO resident winners in Ohio art and writing contest
Several residents of Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio were winners in the LeadingAge of Ohio "art and writing contest," judged recently. Every participant from Bluffton who entered was a winner. Those persons follow:
• Pat Althaus, 1st place and "The People's Choice - "Bouncing Betty" (small quilted work)
• Pat Althaus and Gloria Bucher - 2nd place "Bursting Color with New Life," (wreath) (cooperative art)
• Genevieve Fast - honorable mention, frilly knit fashion scarf (wearable art)
• Ruth Naylor - honorable mention - "Winter's Extended Run," (Poetry)
• Joanne Niswander - 1st place "A Christmas Carol," (prose, non-fiction)
•Della Salter - 3rd place "Dragon Fly," (fine art I)
First, second and third place winners will advance to the state competition on Columbus on Aug. 27-28.
