Shirley's will soon be selling popcorn in Maumee's The Shops at Fallen Timbers
Bluffton's Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn Co., is completing construction on a new store in Maumee’s The Shops at Fallen Timbers, and plans to begin serving its popcorn snacks and gift tins in September.
“Our business was born in northwest Ohio, and The Shops at Fallen Timbers are the perfect family environment for our next step,” said Pete Suter, co-founder and CEO of Shirley’s. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with folks in the Toledo area to create happiness through fundraisers, gifts and anytime snacks.”
Suter plans to begin popping Shirley’s signature popcorn in September, with a grand opening slated for fall of 2014 - just in time for the holiday season. Originally founded in 2009 along Main Street in Bluffton, Shirley’s quickly outgrew its first store, renovating and launching a franchising program just three years later in the fall of 2012.
The Maumee location is the first step in Shirley’s planned growth into a nationally recognized popcorn brand, with additional stores anticipated across the Midwest over the next several years.
