Everett Collier talks about his cross-country bike trip at Sept. 12 chamber breakfast
Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce members will hear about Everett Collier’s cross-country bike trip this summer. The 3,600-mile trip was part of the 7th annual Fuller Center Bike Adventure. The trip from Atlantic City, N.J. to Astoria, Ore., lasted from June 5 to Aug. 10.
Collier is the guest speaker of the Friday, Sept. 12, chamber breakfast, which launches the 2014-15 breakfast series.
The breakfasts are open to the public and are held in the third floor of the Bluffton town hall, 154 N. Main St. A complete, free, breakfast is served from 7 to 7:30 a.m. The chamber program is from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.
Several additional items are on the September agenda and those will be announced soon. Persons interested in attending the breakfast should RSVP to [email protected].
One other September chamber event is the Bluffton University student showcase. That takes place Thursday, Sept. 18, in Marbeck Center from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Bluffton businesses have the opportunity to display their services and projects to Bluffton students during the showcase. Chamber members may reserve tables at $25 each. Non-chamber members may reserve tables at $50 each. Reservations are accepted at the chamber’s email, listed above. Businesses not chamber members may use the $50 registration as a down payment for a chamber membership.
The October and November chamber breakfast agendas are also set. The Oct. 10 breakfast will feature updates from Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs. The Nov. 14 breakfast will feature updates from the Swiss Community Historical Society.
The chamber invites interested residents to become a chamber member. Individual memberships are $50 annually. A membership form and benefit sheet are attachments at the bottom of this story.
Currently the Bluffton chamber has nearly 190 members.
