WOOSTER, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team struggled to mount an offensive at the College of Wooster on Wednesday afternoon, dropping an 8-0 decision at the hands of the Fighting Scots. Bluffton slipped to 0-2 on the year, while Wooster upped its mark to 2-1.
Four different Wooster women found the back of the net in the first 45 minutes as the home team opened up a commanding 4-0 lead at the break. Bluffton held serve for over 30 minutes to open period two before the Fighting Scots cashed in with four late tallies for an 8-0 shutout of the Beavers.
Sophomores Terrill Webb (Kenton) and Kristen Tropf (Findlay/Van Buren) both put shots on goal, but Wooster finished the contest with a dominating 35-2 edge in total attempts, including 18-2 on frame.
Freshman Katie Neeley (Huber Heights/Wayne) turned back 10 shots for the visitors.
