Wilmingon downs Bluffton women 3-0

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women’s soccer team traveled to Wilmington College to take on the Quakers on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014 as they fell 3-0. The Beavers slipped to 0-3 on the season while Wilmington earned their first win, climbing to 1-3.
The home team was able to kick off the scoring early, scoring in just the 11th minute to give the Quakers a quick 1-0 lead. Forward Taylor Scott would score again just 11 minutes later to extend the lead to 2-0 in the middle of the first half. The Quakers tacked on a late goal with just six seconds remaining in the match to give Wilmington the 3-0 victory.
The Quakers outshot the Beavers 19-4 overall, with Bluffton freshman keeper Katie Neeley (Huber Heights/Wayne) earning four saves of her own.
The Beavers will return to action next Saturday afternoon in their home opener against Marietta College at the Sears Complex. The women’s contest begins at noon with a men’s match to follow at 2:30 p.m. Come support your Beavers!
