Mr. Atomic coming to Bluffton Sept. 29
Bluffton University’s Sauder Visual Arts Center will host “A Brush with Fantasy: The Paintings of Mr. Atomic,” opening Sept. 29 in the Grace Albrecht Gallery.
The exhibit is free and open to the public through Oct. 25. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 1-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. A reception will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Oct. 4, Homecoming Saturday at Bluffton.
“Mr. Atomic” is the pseudonym of identical twin brothers and Toledo-based artists Mike and Mark Kersey. Their website describes them as “narrative pop surrealism artists” who were raised on comic books, Saturday morning cartoons and science-fiction movies. They tap into those, and other, influences, they say, “to explore the potential of a blank canvas.”
