Ault passes for 2 TD but Spencerville's big second half too much for Pirates

Bluffton High School football team fell to NWC league-leader Spencerville 60-20 on the road on Friday. The lost puts BHS at 1-6, and 0-5 in the Northwest conference.
Spencerville established their run game early scoring the first touchdown from 1 yard out. Point after kick was no good, 6-0 Spencerville.
Pirates Mitchell Ault connected with Levi Kistler on a deep ball pass for a 62 yard touchdown. Point after kick by Kaleb Jefferson was good, BHS jumped in the lead by 1.
Spencerville started the 2nd quarter scoring on a 9 yard touchdown run. Two point conversion attempt was good, 14-7 Spencerville.
Spencerville special teams racked up a score also with a 47 yard punt return. Two point conversion pass was good, 22-7 Spencerville. Not afraid to use his legs also Ault ran in a 1 yard touchdown. Point after kick by Jefferson was good, 14-22 Spencerville.
Pirates shortened the deficit as Ault 31 yard pass was completed to Kistler. Two point conversion pass was no good; 20-22 Spencerville still holds the lead. Spencerville scored the next 5 touchdowns of the game, converting 4 of 5 two point conversions.
All 5 of Spencerville’s touchdowns in the 2nd half were rushing touchdowns; longest runs were from 85 yards, 35 yards, and 21 yards out.
Spencerville outnumbered Bluffton high school in total offense racking up 495 yards to Bluffton’s 229 yards and 468 yards was credited to Spencerville running attacked.
Quarterback Mitchell Ault was 7 for 22 throwing for 177 yards and 2 touchdowns. Levi Kistler led the receiver with 2 receptions for 98 yards. Defensively Mitchell led the defense with 8 tackles. Followed by Kaleb Jefferson with 6 tackles.
Bluffton Pirates will host Western Reserve Academy Friday in a non-conference game.
