University offers mediation training
Bluffton University will host a 20-hour mediation training program for interested community members, as well as Bluffton students, faculty and staff, from Oct. 24-26.
The trainers, Lorraine Stutzman-Amstutz and Jackie Wells, will focus on basic principles of restorative justice and mediation, and will wrap up by sharing ways to implement practices in community, prison and educational settings.
Sessions are scheduled for 5:30-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24; 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25; and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26. Participants must be able to attend all three days of training, which is available to the first 25 registrants. To register, email Amber Smith at [email protected]; cost is $125 for community members and free for Bluffton students, faculty and staff. All participants will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the weekend.
