Volleyball rolls over Manchester in straight sets

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Beavers came out firing on all cylinders against visiting Manchester University in tonight's mid-week Heartland Conference match. From the beginning to the end of the match, Bluffton controlled the action, downing Manchester in three quick sets (25-14, 25-15, 25-13). The Beavers improved to 18-8 overall and 5-2 in the Heartland Conference, while Manchester slipped to 5-20 and 1-6 in the HCAC.
Offensively, Bluffton’s offense was smoking with a hitting percentage of .366 with four different players hitting above .400 for the night. KENDRA PARMENTER (Grove City) pounded 14 kills, JENNY BROWN (St. Marys/Memorial) had nine and ASHLEY LITWILLER (Hopedale, IL/Olympia) added six spikes. Junior captain SARA ROTH (Findlay/Van Buren) dished out 32 assists and helped the cause with five pickups.
Brown and Litwiller controlled the net with two solo blocks each, along with three and two block assists, respectively. MACKENZIE MCFARLIN (Ashland) fired three aces from the service line and BECCA TOURNEY (Columbia City, Ind.) led the defense with 10 digs.
The Beavers have their final home match against Rose-Hulman on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 1 p.m.
