Becky Lynn Burns-Reed was a 1975 Ada HS graduate
Becky Lynn Burns-Reed, 57, died at 4:08 p.m.Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at Mt. Carmel St. Ann's Medical Center, Westerville.
she was born April 29, 1957 in Jamestown, N.Y., to the late A. Chester and Patricia Ann (Woods) Burns. On March 15, 1997, she married Gary L. Reed, who survives in Ada.
She was a 1975 graduate of Ada High School. She had attended Ohio Northern University, and received her Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Middle Tennessee State University, and received her nursing degree from Owens Community College in Findlay.
She worked as a Critical Care Nurse in the CCU at Lima Memorial Health Systems. She was member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and the Ohio Nurses Association.
Mrs. Reed was a member and past trustee of First United Methodist Church of Bluffton, and was currently attending Bluffton Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a dedicated donor to the Blood Bank at the Red Cross,
Becky was blessed with 2 daughters, Ria E. (Mitchell Montgomery) Reed, and Jenna L. (Taylor) Powell of both of Bluffton; five grandchildren, Rianna, Ashton, Casey, Bailee and Duncan; brother, Mike Burns of Texas, and sister, Bonnie (Mike) Merchant of Ariz.
Other survivors include, mother-in-law, Betty Reed, of Bluffton; nephew, Steve Burns, two nieces, Jennifer (Brian) Talcott, and Stephanie (Kevin) Bach; 3 great-nephews, Gavin, Holden, and Bain; four brothers-in-law, Dean (Sandra) Reed, of Lima, Doug (Pat) Reed, Waynesfield, Kenny (Delores) Reed, Forrest, and Kirk (Karen) Reed, of Jumbo; and two sisters-in-law, Nedra (Brad) Shafer, of Bluffton, and Jayna Petty, of Bellefontaine; numerous other nieces, nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Gale Reed.
A celebration of life service will begin 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, at Hanson - Neely Funeral Homes, Ada. Pastor Wade Milton will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross or the Humane Society.
All services will be held at Hanson – Neely Funeral Homes, Ada. Local arrangements are by Chiles - Laman Funeral and Cremation Services.
