Donald Stark served in Korea
Donald Benjamin Stark, 82, passed away November 10, 2014, at 11:27 p.m. at his residence. Donald was born January 11, 1932 in Huron, OH, to the late Daniel and Alice (Hopkins) Stark. On August 14, 1954 he married Marilyn Malott Stark and she survives.
Donald retired from Lima Ford Engine Plant as a machine repairman after 36 years. He enjoyed golf, bowling, fishing, reading and playing cards. Donald was a member of the UAW Ford Retirees, Bluffton Golf Club and the Columbus Grove American Legion. He was a 1949 graduate of Lafayette-Jackson Township High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors also include five children Randall E. (Linda M.) Stark of Traverse City, MI, Brian K. (Janet A.) Stark of Dublin, Valerie R. Parkins of Cridersville, Christal M. Ford of Troy, Sean A. (Kimberley L.) Stark of Columbus; 15 Grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren; and one Great Great Grandchild.
Donald was preceded in death by: seven sisters, Mary Leppla, Altha Gossman, Juanita Lieber, Cynthia Stoodt, Gladys Strait, Alice Welch, Dorothy Leppla and four brothers, Robert "Gene Stark, Harold Stark, Infant brothers-Thomas and Daniel Stark.
Services will be held November 14, 2014 at 11:00 am at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Rev. J. Randy Davis to officiate the service. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following the service where military rites will be performed. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.
