Marcene Spangler was a nurse at Bluffton Hospital
Marcene Mae Spangler, 87, died Nov. 21, 2014 at 5:20 p.m. Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. She was born August 5, 1927, in Jackson Twp., Allen Co, Ohio, to Wavel and Martha (Kidd) Ransbottom who preceded her in death.
On Nov. 22, 1953, she married Raymond Spangler who preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 2009.
She graduated from Lafayette-Jackson High School and completed her nurse's training at Bluffton Hospital. She was a nurse at Bluffton Hospital. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Bluffton, and the women's group at the church. She was a member of Bluffton Senior Citizens. She was an avid bowler, was previously active with the Bluffton Music Booster.
Survivors include a son Glen W. (Myra) Spangler of Hamler; two daughters Valarie (David) Campbell of Mantua, Ohio, Marcia Spallinger of Findlay; three sisters Waneta (George) Manos of Englewood, Ohio, Edith (John) Hartman of Lima, Doris Rhodes of Englewood; four grandchildren; three step grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Rev. Kimberly Miller officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton following the service. Friends may call Tuesday from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
