Recker named HCAC Player of the Week
BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University center Thayne Recker (Arlington) earned All-Tournament Team honors at the Chicago Marriott Naperville Tip-Off Tournament over the weekend and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
The junior went for 25 points with 11 boards in a hard-fought loss to No. 1 ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater on Friday before adding 24 points, on 9-of-10 shooting from the field, with five rebounds in a loss to host North Central Saturday. For the week, Recker put up 24.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, while shooting 63.3 percent from the field.
Bluffton (1-2, 0-0 HCAC) welcomes Ohio Midwestern to the Sommer Center on Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 7 p.m. before diving into Heartland Conference action on Wednesday, Dec. 3 when the Beavers travel to Earlham College for a 7.30 p.m. tip.
