Bluffton Public Library releases January programs
The Bluffton Public Library offers the following programs during January
In recognition of National Hot Month, Hot Tea Tuesdays will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. every Tuesday in January. A variety of hot tea and other hot beverages will be available for patrons.
Chill Zone meets from 3:30-4:30 p.m. every Tuesday. Middle and high school students may hang out at the library for games, movies and crafts.
Teen Games meets from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the lower level of the library. Teens/tweens (11-16) will enjoy indoor games such as balloon stomp, fruit salad, shoe mix.
Jammin’ @ the Library is at 6:30 p.m. January 12 and 16. This is an informal time for acoustic musicians to share their love of music.
Yoga Fit(c), a yoga-based exercise class, is offered at Bluffton Public Library on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. by BFR Sports & Fitness. Contact BFR to register.
Tot Bop will be held at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 14 and 21. For ages 1-5, this is a mixture of aerobics, dance, and games to encourage tots to stay active during the winter. Parents or guardians are encouraged to participate, and registration is required.
Anime Club will meet at 6 p.m. Jan. 21. Watch the website for more details.
Storytime, for ages 3 to 5 is at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 26 and at 10 a.m. Jan. 27. Registration is required.
On Jan. 26, registration for 1000 Books Before Kindergarten begins. Commit to reading your child/children 1000 books before they start kindergarten (for babies, toddlers and preschoolers); BPL will supply a starter pack with reading logs and book lists. The first 100 people to sign up for this challenge will receive a free “1000 Books Before Kindergarten” book tote-- and a board book to go with it! The S.H.A.N.N.O.N. Service Club and The Friends of Bluffton Public Library are sponsors.
Multicultural Children’s Book Day is Jan. 27th. Check out the library's multicultural children's books.
During January, BPL will also have a book display on New Year’s resolutions. See the book display near the front desk for inspiration on eating better, exercising, focusing on family time, stress relief, and more. Also, the display case will exhibit a patron’s historic collection of local milk bottles.

The library will close at 5:30 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and will be closed on New Year’s Day. The library will also be closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jan. 19.
