BFR group fitness classes are underway
All BFR group exercise classes started back in session the week of Jan. 5, accoridng to Carole Enneking of BFR Sports and Fitness.
No registration is required to participate in BFR fitness classes and new participants are welcome anytime. Individuals are invited to try out any BFR group fitness class without charge for the first visit.
Additional class visits cost $5 ($3 BFR members) or even less with an Any Class Fitness Card. Morning and evening classes are available. All Star Workouts (Monday and Wednesdays 8:30-9:30 am) offers a variety of different exercise experiences including step, floor work, dumbbell weights, and running/walking. Sue Sheehan is the instructor and offers an upbeat, yet demanding workout. Sheehan also leads the morning YogaFit session on Friday mornings (8:30-9:30 am). YogaFit is an international exercise
program that incorporates yoga movements for a full-body exercise experience; classes are held in a “candle lighted,” relaxing atmosphere.
Water Exercise Level 2 (Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:30-9:15 am) offers a full-body workout of cardio and strength training in a warm-water aquatic setting. Water classes are held at Maple Crest Senior Living facility on Augsburger Road.
Exercisers who have health or joint issues requiring low impact group exercise are invited to participate in the Low Impact Aerobics (Mondays 10-11 am), Strength & Flexibility (Thursdays 10-11 am) or the Silver Sneakers Classic (Tuesdays and Fridays 11 am-noon) or water exercise class.
The Low Impact class uses seated and standing cardio segments to safely raise heart rates, and seated strength training segments to build and maintain muscle strength. The emphasis in the Strength & Flexibility class is to maintain joint and muscular flexibility through yoga-based movements, stretches, and strength training.
Water Exercise I classes (offered Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays 9:30-10:15 am at Maple Crest) offer a mixture of aerobic, core training and stretches in the warm-water pool.
Group Fitness is also available in the evenings. Aqua Zumba is offered on Monday nights 6 pm at Maple Crest. The popular Latin-inspired moves have been transferred to the water for an energetic and fun workout for all ages. Keely Goodale, certified Zumba fitness instructor, leads the Aqua class.
Cardio & Strength is a group training format class led by certified trainer, Kelly Martz. Cardio & Strength offers a different mix of strength and core exercises mixed with heart-raising cardio segments.
An evening session of YogaFit, led by Chris Setzer, is offered on Wednesday nights 6:30 pm at the Bluffton Library. YogaFit offers a full-body workout using yoga-based movements in a relaxed atmosphere; modifications can be made for different fitness levels. An evening session of All Star Workouts is offered at 6:00PM on Thursday nights.
