Pack your bags - Bluffton Senior Center announces 2015 trip schedule
Let's get out the travel guides.
The Bluffton Senior Center has a full lineup of trips scheduled for 2015 including Florida, Yellowstone, Myrtle Beach, Oregon and Australia and New Zealand.
On March 14 the group will leave for an eight-day trip to Florida with a stop at the Biltmore Estate on the way. While in Florida the group will spend a day at the Holy Land Experience, an amusement park designed to look like Jerusalem during the time of Jesus.
They will also visit the Morse Museum of American Art, the Leu Gardens and House Museum and have a free day to visit the Disney Park of their choice.
On June 1, the Senior Center will take a two-week trip west to visit Yellowstone National Park. They will stop on the way at the Black Hills, Devils Tower, Grand Tetons, Cody Wyoming Rodeo and Chuck wagon dinner. On the trip back they will visit the John Deere Factory in Moline, Ill., and have a Caption’s Dinner Cruise on the Mississippi.
On Aug. 23 will take the group to Myrtle Beach to soak up the summer sun. The seven-day trip will include two fabulous shows at the Carolina Opry and Alabama Theatre, a guided tour of historic Charleston and a visit to Broadway at the Beach.
The Senior Center will take the group flying to Oregon on Sept. 12. The nine-day tour will include a tour of Portland, three farm visits, a cruise of Newport Bay, Mt. Hood, Cascade Locks and Multnomah Falls. There is also an optional tour up to Crater Lake. This tour includes airfare and transportation to the and from airports.
The season caps off with a trip to Australia and New Zealand leaving Bluffton on Oct. 13. The 18-day tour will visit Cairns, the Great Barrier Reef, Sydney, Sydney Opera House, Auckland, Christchurch, Mount Cook National Park, Queenstown, Milford Sound and Arrowtown to name a few of the highlights.
Trip includes airfare and transportation to and from airports. On Monday, Feb. 16, at 2:30 p.m., there will be a presentation on the Australia and New Zealand trip at the Bluffton Senior Center free of charge.
