Benefit for Dukes family will take place Saturday
The benefit fundraiser for the Tom Dukes family, area resident who recently died of colon cancer will take place this weekend, according to First National Bank, who is assisting in the benefit.
A chicken barbecue with live entertainment is planned on Saturday, Jan. 10, at the Columbus Grove American Legion Post 516, 412 Plum St., Columbus Grove.
Pre-sale tickets are now on sale. Persons may dine-in or carry-out from 5 to 7 p.m. The event will also include gun raffles, live and silent auctions and a 50-50 drawing.
Live music wlll be provided by Polly Mae starting at 9 p.m.
Persons interested in supporting the Dukes family may make donations at First National Bank in the account name of "No One Fights Alone FBO Tom Dukes."
Businesses and individuals interested in putting together a gift basket for the auction may contact the bank.
Mr. Dukes died Dec. 30, 2014, at his residence. He was a self-employed farmer and was owner/operator of TJD Trucking and was a 1978 graduate of Cory-Rawson High School.
