Bluffton McDonald’s celebrates Mondays with steaming coffee billboard
Drive down Cable Road or Elida Road and what might appear to be a billboard on fire is actually a fresh, steaming cup of coffee — or at least appears to be.
Local McDonald’s franchise, Lewis Family McDonald’s, has recently introduced a new “Free Coffee Mondays” promotion. This limited time promotion offers guests a free small premium roast coffee every Monday with no purchase necessary.
To raise awareness, McDonald’s put up two extended billboards, one on Cable, and one on Elida, with steam rising from the cup of coffee. Travelers were quick to notice the billboards, and at a glance, thought they were on fire, causing them to quickly call the fire department.
“We wanted to do something to generate excitement in the community,” said local McDonald’s owner, Jerry Lewis. Lewis said the promotion has already received positive feedback. “Folks in our communities love our coffee, and we want to give everyone a chance to try it for free.”
