William M. Herr was a life-long farmer
William M. Herr, 96, died Feb. 9, 2015, at 3 a.m. at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.
He was born Oct. 25, 1918, in Bluffton to the late Daniel and Lavina (Burkholder) Herr. On Nov. 1, 1939 he married Margaret Jones Herr who preceded him in death on Aug. 1, 2013.
Mr. Herr had been a life-long farmer. He was a member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church, Bluffton. He and was a graduate of Bluffton High School.
Survivors include four daughters, Louise (Jack) Shoupe of Bluffton, Carole Kelley of Bluffton, Jayne (Charles) Huffman of Pandora, Shari (Tony) Schwab of Pandora; daughter-in-law Julie Herr of Bluffton; 17 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Herr; four brothers, Clair, Sidney, Roy and Maurice Herr; and a sister, Mabel Steiner.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday February 12, 2015 at Ebenezer Mennonite Church. Rev. Jim King and Rev. Dick Potter officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Mennonite Cemetery following the service.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 p.m.- 4 p.m. and from 6 - 8 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton .
