St. Mary's youth give a history lesson to adults in the congregation
Youth of St. Mary’s Catholic Church gave a history lesson to adult members of the congregation on Feb. 9.
“Pioneer to Present, A Journey of Faith,” was presented by youth as an on-going part of the congregation’s 150th anniversary year.

Jane Warren directed the production. Scenes portraying events in the life of the congregation included:
• James and Sarah Owens make their way to Allen County, Ohio.
• James and Sarah have to bury one of their young daughters
• In the Owens farmhouse, Father Dechant comes over to tell the family there will be baptisms and first holy communions in the morning.
• The first church of St Mary's Catholic Church is built in honor of Paris Owen's wish.
• Father Hebbler is placed in charge of St. Mary's and the church community begins to grow.
• Memories of Father Hiltz, Sister Christine, and Sister Providentia; ground breaking of new church.
• New church is completed and many programs are added along with improvements.
