Kevin Every named HCAC Pitcher of the Week
BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University flame thrower Kevin Every (Zanesville/West Muskingum) was a force on the hill during a 4-4 trip to Florida and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
The sophomore tossed a complete game in his first career start, allowing three hits and only one unearned run with nine strikeouts in a 24-1 complete-game victory over Finlandia. Every came back two days later, throwing a shutout inning of relief in a 7-2 win over Alvernia.
For the week, Every posted a perfect 0.00 ERA and held opponents to a miniscule .143 batting average with 10 punchouts.
Bluffton makes the trip to Toledo to take on Lourdes University and former Beaver, current Lourdes assistant Tim Berta. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. at Mercy Field. The Beavers will open at home on Saturday, March 14, when they host a doubleheader with Goshen College at 1 p.m. at Memorial Field. Come support your Beavers!
