MMH, NW Physical Therapy, partner in Parkinson’s disease program
A Parkinson’s disease (PD) information program takes place at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 25, at Bluffton Public Library, 145 S. Main St., Bluffton.
Program sponsors, Mennonite Memorial Home (MMH) and Northwest Physical Therapy, both of Bluffton, will also launch a fitness and mobility program designed for people with the disease. Information on that program will be provided at the meeting.
Led by a certified OhioHealth Delay the Disease instructor, the program improves the physical, mental and emotional realities of PD patients.
Rhonda Wolpert, MMH administrator, said, “We recognize the benefits a program like Delay the Disease offers the community. We see a demand for a Parkinson’s disease wellness program and support group, and this is our initiative to meet that need.”
Mennonite Memorial Home and Northwest Physical Therapy will provide more information about the Delay the Disease program on March 25. Dennis Ploszaj, board member and past president of Parkinson’s Foundation of Northwest Ohio, is the March 25 speaker.
Ploszaj was diagnosed with PD in 2005 and has significant experience attending the Delay the Disease classes in Findlay.
