Nancy Dyer born in 1908, lived to be 107 years old
Nancy Jane Dyer, 107, died April 2, 2015, at 5:19 p.m. at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton.
She was born March 6, 1908, in Middlecreek, Ky., to George and Mary Tennessee (Prater) England who preceded her in death. On April 20, 1929, she married Gladys "Glad" Dyer who preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 1978.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Union Chapel Missionary Church, Lima. Nancy enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, quilting and crocheting, bird watching, nature, her farm animals and watching fish in her aquarium. She also enjoyed watching church programs and traditional Christian music.
Survivors include four grandchildren Dimale (Don) Snyder of Bluffton, Darrell D. (Brenda) Dyer of Lima, Monty C. (Cheryl) Dyer of Harrod, Charlotte Sue (Kenneth) Ring of Lima; and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son Russell James Dyer; sister Esther Conley; and five brothers William, Ramey, Kelly, Dennis and Robey England.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday April 7, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Pastor Mark Bayliff officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger following the service. Friends may call Monday from 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mennonite Memorial Home, Union Chapel Missionary Church or Bluffton Hospital.
