Several news items concern Bluffton elementary families. Here's an update frrom the current elementary newsletter:

TESTING DAYS/CHANGES: Third grade students will take the Reading Ohio Achievement Assessment on April 21. New state “End of the year” exams will be given on April 27 in English/Language Arts for grades 4-5. Students in grades 3-5 will take Math End of Year (E.O.Y.) exams on April 28 and 29.

Fourth graders will be given Social Studies E.O.Y. exams on May 5. Fifth graders will take Science E.O.Y. exams on May 5. All E.O.Y. tests will be scheduled in the morning and will take a maximum of 75 minutes each day.  

ELEMENTARY BOOK FAIR WEEK OF APRIL 13: The annual elementary spring Book Fair will be held April 13– 17. The book fair will be open daily from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.  Tuesday evening (6-8 p.m.) will be family night. This book fair is a Buy One/Get One Free (BOGO). The book fair will close at 2 p.m. on Friday.  

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION: Any child who will be five years old by Aug. 1, 2015, is eligible to enroll. To develop a kindergarten mailing list, contact the elementary office at 419-358-7951. 

The following information is needed:
• child’s name
• birth date 
• parents’ names
• address and
• phone number.

All children are required to have their immunizations before starting school. The Allen County Health Department provides immunizations but appointments must be made. Its website is: allencountyhealthdepartment.org. More information will be mailed home to future kindergarten students on the school's mailing list.
