Bob Cheney was a lifetime farmer
Robert "Bob" J. Cheney, 58 died May 11, 2015, at his residence as a result of a farming accident. He was born May 23, 1956, in Bluffton to Willis and Carol (Montgomery) Cheney.
He was a graduate of Cory-Rawson High School and was a lifetime farmer. He also co-owned and operated Cheney Brothers, Inc., Bluffton with his brothers. He had also worked at Ex-Cello/Purepak for many years.
Survivors include his mother Carol Cheney of Bluffton; two brothers Joe (Denise) Cheney of Jenera, David (Anna) Cheney of Bluffton; three nieces Nicole (Jason) Oman, Kari (Jarod) Kempf, Britni Cheney; two nephews Andrew Cheney, Nathan Cheney; four great nieces; one great nephew and his girlfriend JoAnna Hawk of Bluffton.
He was preceded in death by his father Willis Cheney.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday May 16, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Rev. Wade Melton officiating. Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Friday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bluffton Trinity United Methodist Church.
