Lots of end-of-year events at middle school
There's lots of news on the Bluffton Middle School website concerning students. Here's a sampling of those items:
High school girls' tennis
Any 8th grade girl interested in playing high school tennis in the fall, please stop by the middle school office to sign up.
High school boys' soccer
There will be a soccer meeting on Monday, May 18, at 7 p.m. in the high school cafeteria for all boys interested in playing high school soccer in the fall. The meeting will be for both returning players and those entering the high school. If you have any questions or are unable to attend, call Coach Smucker.
Sports physicals
Sports physicals will be held on Monday, May 18, for grades 7-9 starting at 4 p.m. at Dr. Woodruff's office for boys, and Dr. Shelly's office for girls. Cost is $15 per student. Please pick up a physical form in the Middle School office. A completed physical is required to participate in athletics.
Cross country meeting
Come check out cross country at an informational meeting in Coach Knowlton's room, high school room 203, on Friday, May 15, immediately after school. This is open to any athlete going into grades 7-12 for next school year.
Middle school dance
The final middle school dance will be held on Friday, May 15, From 7-10 p.m. in the Middle School cafetorium. It is a Hawaiian-themed event dedicated to outgoing 8th graders. Cost of admission is $3 per student. There will be hula hoop and limbo contests, along with concessions and photos available for purchase.
BHS show choir tryouts
Any 8th grader interested in trying out for the high school show choir should pick up information outside of the high school choir room. Tryouts are May 12 and 13. See Mrs. Zink if you have any questions.
Middle School yearbooks
The Middle School yearbooks have arrived. If your student has ordered one, please have them stop in the office to pick it up. There are a few extras available for purchase if you were unable to previously order. Soft covers are available for $25 each.
Bluffton boys' basketball summer camp
Signups are underway for the 2015 Bluffton Pirate Youth Basketball Camp conducted by Coach Todd Boblitt. Sessions for 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders will be held on June 15-18 at the Bluffton High School Gym from noon - 2 p.m. Cost for each camper is $30 and includes camp instruction, T-shirt, and prizes awarded for various competitions. Stop in the office to receive a registration form.
Bluffton University girls' basketball skills camp
Bluffton University is sponsoring a basketball skills camp for girls entering the 5-6-7-8 grades from June 29 - July 2 from 1-5 p.m. Cost is $65 per camper. Stop in the office to pick up an informational flyer.
