Shannon Cemetery Commission: A group of citizens who will do the right thing
The Icon applauds Mayor Augsburger’s selection of members to the newly established Shannon Cemetery Commission.
All are members of the village of Bluffton, as this commission should be.
Three members are former “Bluffton citizens of the year.” One is a former mayor; another is a former village solicitor. Another represents the American Legion, who cares for the interests of veterans buried there; another is a great-great-great…grandson of the town’s undertaker who buried most of the persons in the cemetery. Another is a member of the Allen County Historical Society board and another a retired university sociologist who worked in small-town community development.
This group has common sense. They see the larger picture of Bluffton. They will do the right thing with the cemetery.
We look forward to their eventual recommends.
