Major changes coming to several Main Street intersections prior to school starting
A major change is coming to several Main Street intersections this month.
During Monday’s council meeting, Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator, will update council on a Main Street street marking project scheduled to take place before Aug. 31 by Zimmerman Painting.
The project includes remove and replace the crosswalks at the following Main Street intersections:
• College
• Franklin
• Church-Cherry
• Vine
• Elm
• Jefferson
They will remove and replace the School Zone markings on Main and install yield line marking at the Main and College intersection and the Main and Vine intersection.
The project uses Thermoplastic instead of paint. The village service department will repaint the existing crosswalks, curbs and stop bars next week.
Additional items in Monday’s agenda are in the attachment at the bottom of this story.
