Fred A. Putnam, 1936-2015
Fred A. Putnam, 79, Pandora, OH and formerly of Chenao & Bloomington, IL passed away at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay, at 9:15 pm, September 20, 2015. He was born, July 14, 1936 at Collison, IL, the son of Roy H. & Alta B. Welshire Putnam. He married Betty L. Wade on Sept. 21, 1958 at Clarksville EUB Church, Lexington, IL. She survives in Pandora.
Also surviving is one daughter, Anna M. (David) Freeman, Rawson, OH; 3 sisters: Phyllis (Mike) Koerner, Broadlands, IL; Paula (Dale) Laumeier, Manito, IL and Shirley Keith, Greenville, NC; 4 grandsons: Keith A. Monkman, Jr, Bloomington, IL; Lucian D. Freeman, Bluffton, OH; Frederick A. Freeman, Mason, OH; and Colt E. Freeman, Columbus Grove, OH.; and 2 great grandchildren. His parents proceeded him in death.
Fred retired as janitorial foreman at Illinois State University, Normal, IL. After retirement he and Betty moved to Eagle Rock, MO and spent 15 years there before moving to Ohio to be closer to their daughter and grandsons.
A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2015 at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton. Rev. Jim King will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.chiles-lamanfh.com
