Miniaturist art exhibit opens Oct. 7 in Sauder
Bluffton University’s Grace Albrecht Gallery will host “Instruments of Peace,” an October exhibition of miniaturist paintings and decal ceramics by Goshen, Ind., artists Justin and Brooke Rothshank.
Opening Oct. 7, the exhibit is free and open to the public through Oct. 30. Gallery hours in the Sauder Visual Arts Center are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 1-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. A reception for the artists will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Homecoming Saturday, Oct. 10.
Justin Rothshank is a ceramic artist, while Brooke Rothshank is a painter/illustrator who works in a variety of media. Ceramics Monthly Magazine recognized Justin as an Emerging Artist in 2007, and he received an American Craft Council Award of Excellence in 2009. Brooke’s work as a miniaturist artist has been featured in both Miniature Collector and Dollhouse Miniatures magazines. She has also illustrated three children’s books.
