FRANKLIN, Ohio - The Bluffton University men’s soccer team traveled to face the Franklin College Grizzlies in a rare HCAC Saturday night matchup on October 17. While there were a bevy of shots taken, after two overtimes and 110 minutes the result was a scoreless tie. A second straight deadlock propelled the Beavers to a 0-11-2 mark, while the Grizzlies stand 5-7-2.
While Bluffton was outshot 31-15, the Beavers relied on their superb defense to keep Franklin off the scoreboard. MATTHEW HARDMAN-ZIMMERMAN (Forest City, PA/Home) collected 11 saves on the day and received a yellow card in the 31st minute while racking up his first shutout of the season. Senior MICHAEL RALPH (Mansfield/Mansfield Christian) led the visitors with five shots and GRANT STUTZMAN (Sugarcreek/Hiland) added four.
Bluffton will look for its first win of the season against rival Defiance at home on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 3:30. Come out and cheer on your Beavers!
