BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University men's soccer had upset on its mind with Rose-Hulman at the Sears Complex on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, but the Engineers found the back of the net twice in the first half en route to the 2-0 shutout on Senior Day. The Beavers wrap up their 2015 campaign with a record of 0-15-2 overall and 0-7-2 in the Heartland Conference. Rose-Hulman heads into the Heartland Conference tournament at 12-2-4 and 7-0-2 in the HCAC.
The visitors needed just 10:03 to make it 1-0 as Erik Eksten buried a header off a corner kick from Dieter Schultz for the first goal of the match. Austin Webb connected in the 36th minute, making it 2-0 at the break.
The Beavers continued to battle in period two, firing eight shots, including three on frame, but the Rose defense was up to the task. The Engineers made the first half tallies stand up as they capped off their regular season with the 2-0 shutout.
Rose-Hulman out-shot the Beavers by a 15-11 margin. Bluffton keeper Matt Hardman-Zimmerman (Forest City, Penn.) collected five saves on the afternoon. Seniors Ryan Johnson-Evers (Muskego, Wis.), Appiah Adubofour (Kumasi, Ghana), Adrian Ramirez (Archbold) and Jake Headings (Cincinnati/McNicholas) all fired two shots for the Beavers.
