Several Pirates receive all-NWC football honors
Several Bluffton High School players received all Northwest Conference football honors this year.
They include on offense:
• Mitchell Ault, senior, first team, quarterback
• Dakota Bricker, sophomore, first team, receiver
• Sam Crisp, senior, honorable mention
• Dustin Falk, junior, honorable mention
On defense:
• Sam Crisp, senior, defensive line, honorable mention
• Kaleb Jefferson, sophomore, linebacker, honorable mention
• Mitchell Ault, senior, linebacker, honorable mention
• Dustin Falk, junior, specialist, honorable mention
Delphos Jefferson head coach Chris Sommers was selected as the Northwest Conference Coach of the Year for the second year in a row in all-conference selection voting by coaches at a meeting in Delphos earlier this month.
Jefferson won the conference title by defeating Spencerville in the final game of the year to finish the year with a 7-0 league win/loss record.
Jefferson senior, Dalton Hicks, and Spencerville senior, Zach Goecke, were voted Defensive and Offensive Players of the Year in the NWC respectively. Hicks was selected as a first team all-conference linebacker for the second year in a row. Goecke was selected as a first-team choice at running back for the second consecutive year.
Delphos Jefferson, Spencerville, Ada and Crestview have all qualifed for the state football playoffs.
