MMH bake sale Friday
The Service Group of Mennonite Home is holding its annual Thanksgiving bake sale on Friday, Nov. 20, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the lobby of Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton.
Pies, cookies, breads, cakes and other home baked goods will be available.
Hilty Home bake sale-craft bazaar Friday and Saturday
The activities department of Hilty Home is holding its annual fall bake sale and craft bazaar in the craft room at 304 Hilty Drive, just off of State Route 12 in Pandora.
In addition to a variety of home baked goods, craft items donated by residents and friends of the community will be available for sale.
The sale runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20 and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21. Proceeds support the activities program of Hilty Home.
Hickory nut pie sale
The Service Group is also sponsoring its third annual hickory nut pie sale.
The creation of local retired physician, Dr. Oliver Lugibihl, this successful sale has generated over $1,500 to support the programs and projects of Mennonite Home Communities.
What makes these pies unique is that the hickory nuts are gathered locally, cracked, hulled, and cleaned by community member, Oliver Lugibihl.
He is a member of The Service Group and lives in a Villa at Maple Crest Senior Living Village. These large, 10-inch pies provide a unique and tasty treat for the Christmas season.
Orders must be placed before Dec. 15
Orders can be placed at either Mennonite Memorial Home or Hilty Home during the bake sale and craft bazaar. Orders can also be placed before Dec. 15 by calling 419-358-1015 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.
Fresh pies will be available for pickup at Mennonite Memorial Home on Dec. 18, 23, 24, 30, and 31. Pies are $25 each.
