Middle school collects 1,925 items for Bluffton food pantry
The Bluffton Middle School has been diligently collecting non-perishable items for the Bluffton Food Pantry since the start of November, according to Robin Ault, teacher working with the students in this project.
Their collections ended on Dec. 16 with a total of 1,925 items. Each grade was given the goal of 500 items and each grade met and exceeded this goal.
The 6th grade class contributed 533, the 7th grade collected 832, and the 8th grade class donated 560 items. The delivery of this collection of goodies to the food pantry from the middle school was simplified with the help of the Bluffton University baseball team.
"We'd like to thank all in the community who helped make this community service project such a success. The Student Senate at BMS has led this campaign at BMS for the past 17 years," said Ault.
