Bob Antibus continues on Blanchard River Watershed Partnership board
The Blanchard River Watershed Partnership held the 2016 Annual Planning work session on Jan. 6.
New officers were officially recognized. They are: Theresa Allen, President; Don Croy, Vice President; Tim Macke, Treasurer, and Bob Connour, Secretary.
Other board members present were Bob Antibus, Tim Brugeman, Jeremiah Haselman, Dick Kozlowski, Jane McCleary, and Elaine Reynolds.
The group updated forms and procedures, set the meeting calendar for the year, and heard the year- end financial report.
Phil Martin, Watershed Coordinator gave a report on existing and prospective grants. The work of BRWP with agencies resulted in $935,827.80 in grant money being awarded to the watershed.
Committee functions were discussed as well as a detailed report from the new Governance Committee on improving the board functioning, growth, and recruitment along with various job expectations. The BRWP board discussed ongoing funding concerns for the watershed from state sources.
The BRWP has several projects on the planning board for 2016. The group welcomes community support either through membership or volunteer time. Call Phil Martin, the BRWP coordinator, at 419.422.6487 with any questions.
The BRWP represents the six counties of the Blanchard River Watershed and is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving water quality through developing citizen involvement and watershed action plans.
