Burl "Jerry" Moyer was a 1948 Bluffton HS grad
Burl J. “Jerry” Moyer, 86, of Pandora died at 11 p.m., Feb. 21, 2016 at the Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora. Jerry was born June 6, 1929,in Findlay to Burl J. Moyer and Ruth West Moyer. On June 13, 1965 he married Delores Hanna and she survives.
Jerry was a retired letter carrier with the Toledo Post Office. He was an avid runner, gardener and reader. Jerry liked to travel and made three trips to Europe and backpacked in the Rockies four times. He videotaped sporting events for the Pandora-Gilboa Schools for a number of years. He was a 1948 graduate of Bluffton High School and attended the Pleasant View United Methodist Church, Mt, Cory.
Jerry is survived by a son, Karl (Ann) Moyer of Anderson, Ind. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Stan and Gene Moyer.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2016 at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton. Rev. Mark Fuerstenau will officiate.
Burial will be in Clymer Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bookmobile Mission at Pleasant View United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.chiles-lamanfh.com
