February Madness on tap at Sommer Center this weekend

TOURNAMENT AT SOMMER CENTER
Bluffton University will host its first-ever Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s basketball tournament this weekend at the Sommer Center.
Tourney qualifiers by seed
1 – Bluffton 23-2, 16-2
2 – Rose-Hulman 22-3, 16-2
3 – Franklin 18-7, 14-4
4 – Transylvania 18-7,14-4
5 – Mt. St. Joseph 9-16, 8-10
6 – Defiance 7-18, 6-12
The tournament starts with two contests not played at Bluffton. On Feb. 23 Mount St. Joseph played at Transylvania. Transylvania won that game and advances to play at Bluffton.
And, Defiance played at Franklin. Franklin won that game and advances to play at Bluffton.
Tournament games at Bluffton start at 6 p.m. on Friday with Transylvania playing Bluffton. At 8 p.m. Franklin plays Rose-Hulman. The championship game is at 5 p.m., Saturday.
Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for seniors and students. Youth under 11 are admitted free. Conference schools’ students, faculty and staff are admitted free with and ID. Tickets are good for both semi-final games on Friday.
