BHS softball team belts Minster 6-3
After having numerous weather related cancellations the Bluffton Lady Pirates softball team came out swinging in a come-from-behind victory at home against Minster 6-3.
Jazmynn Wilson started a Dinger Party with a homerun over center field. Sami Fruchey and Katie Prater joined her with their own homeruns over the center field fence. This was Sami's fourth HR of the season placing her at the top of the record book for single season HR's. She has tied Mackayla Wilson's 2014 record.
Jazymnn earned 1 run scored and 1 RBI with her HR and a putout at second base. Sami and Katie each added 1 run scored, 2 RBI, and 1 single to their HR.
Sami had a diving catch for a putout when she stepped in at left field for the final 2 innings of the game and Katie had 8 putouts and 1 assist at homeplate.
Taylor Monday and Abbie Parkins had a busy night with some great plays at third and first.
Taylor had 1 RBI and 8 putouts and Abbie had 1 single, 1 run scored and 3 assists. Shortstop Averey Rumer stepped up and scored 1 run and had 2 putouts and 2 assists. Alivia Koenig hit a single and crossed homeplate for 1 run scored and Outfielder Ameri Siferd had 1 putout.
Pitcher Sami Fruchey started the game for the first 4 innings. She had 4 strikeouts, 4 hits, 3 runs and 2 assists from the circle. Sophomore Aimee Ritter came in for the final 2 innings. She had 1 strikeout, 2 hits and 1 assist. They combined for the 6 to 3 win versus Minster.
