Softball: Bluffton 15 - Delphos Jefferson 1
The Bluffton High School Lady Pirates softball team had a huge win on the road at Delphos Monday during NWC play. They ran over the Wildcats winning 15-1.
Senior pitcher Sami Fruchey was in the circle for the 6 inning complete game striking out an outstanding 14 of the 20 batters she faced. She blasted 2 doubles to the fence earning her 5 RBI's. Sami was honored Monday evening as The McDonald's Scholar Athlete of the Week, which aired on WLIO.
Shortstop Averey Rumer had 4 singles, 4 runs, 1 RBI, 2 stolen bases, 1 putout and 1 assist. Taylor Monday had a hard shot to the fence for a double and 3 RBI's. She scored twice and had 4 putouts at first base. Catcher Katie Prater slammed a single and a double. She added 2 RBI's, 1 run, 12 putouts and 2 assists. Jazmynn Wilson hit 2 singles, scoring once. She added a putout at second base.
Abbie Parkins had a single, a RBI and a stolen base. Aimee Ritter had a single, scored once and stole a base. Alivia Koenig scored twice, had a sacrifice bunt and 3 stolen bases. Bailey Edwards scored twice and Ameri Siferd and Katie Daws each had 1 walk and 1 run.
