Community preschool seeks assistant teacher
The Bluffton Community Preschool is hiring an assistant teacher, according to Shelly Matijevich, director.
"We're looking for a reliable individual who can adapt to a changing working environment, is friendly, take directions, child oriented and able to work flexible hours," said Matijevich.
Resumes must be submitted to the Bluffton Community Preschool by Monday, May 9. The preschool is located at First United Methodist Church, 116 Church St., Bluffton.
Job requirements include: planning, adapting and scheduling age-appropriate curriculum involving various activities to stimulate children’s cognitive skills, abilities and development. The assistant director also provides continuous supervision to children, ensures health and safety of children, maintains the classrooms in clean, orderly and safe conditions, records daily observations of the children, maintains accurate attendance and enrollment records. This person also monitors children for signs of child abuse and reports incidents of suspected abuse to appropriate authorities.
Hours are 15-30 per week at minimum wage. Minimum requirements are a high school diploma/GED, child care center experience and First Aid/CPR certified.
