Funeral service April 30 for 99-year-old Glada Zoe Basinger
Glada Zoe Basinger, 99, died April 27, 2016, at Bluffton Hospital. Glada was born April 18, 1917, in Hancock, County, to the late John and Mary (Barkimer) Wilkins. On Jan. 18, 1942, she married Robert H. Basinger and he preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1994.
Glada was a homemaker and was a member of the Bethel United Church of Christ near Ada. She enjoyed being a seamstress and baking pies and cookies.
Survivors include a daughter, Luquetta (Robert M.) Lehman of Bluffton; a son, Roger D. (Charlene K. Myles) Basinger of Liberty Center, Ohio; five grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.
Glada was preceded in death by a great grandchild; five brothers Waldo, Daniel, John Jr., Delbert and Rudy Wilkins; and seven sisters Edna Crawford, Sylvia Scoles, Audean Hanna, Treva Bartley, Phoebe Clapper, Marie Mauk and Leota Badertscher.
Services will be held Saturday April 30, at 2:30 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Burial will be in Clymer Cemetery near Mt. Cory following the service. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
