If council passes water surcharge on Monday all water bills go up $19 per month
Bluffton council will consider the final reading of an ordinance that sets a surcharge on water and sewer accounts during its Monday evening meeting.
If enacted, the legislation will add $19 per month to every resident's water bill.
In other action, council will review a report of property maintenance violations going back to 2013 of a residence at 145 W. Riley St.
“At this point, our efforts to encourage voluntary compliance with the village’s property maintenance regulations have been exhausted,” according to Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator. “The village administration is recommending that the Bluffton council take whatever necessary steps the village solicitor advises are appropriate to force closure of this mater.
Additional council agenda items are in the council packet, which is an attachment at the bottom of this story.
