Luginbuhl's retrospective art show opens in Lima on Sunday
If you missed Gregg Luginbuhl's art exhibit in Bluffton earlier this spring you have a second change to view it.
ArtSpace/Lima announced that "Making My Way: A Gregg Luginbuhl Retrospective" will be shown in the Ellen Nelson Gallery from June 12 through July 23.
Luginbuhl has been a fixture on the local and national art scenes for over 40 years. He has taught at the University of Findlay (1976-1984) and at Bluffton University (1984-2014).

In the course of his career, he has produced works in ceramics, stoneware, porcelain, raku, and bronze, among other media. He has exhibited pottery and ceramic sculpture in more than 300 regional and national exhibitions, and his work is included in many public and private collections nationwide.
Among his many awards, he has received three at Feats of Clay National in Lincoln, California, four at the Tri Kappa Regional Exhibition in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and 35 in Ohio state-wide juried shows.
His work is included in five Ohio Museum collections. His exhibition record includes one-person shows in seven states, and he has been the juror for nineteen regional exhibitions.
Luginbuhl served on the Board of Trustees of the Ohio Designer Craftsmen for a number of years and became president of the organization in 1999, serving through 2001. In 2015, he received ODC’s Outstanding Achievement Award.
Making My Way features 80 works selected from every period of Luginbuhl’s creative life.
Highlights include The Creation Series, eight raku wall plates (1989-1990), borrowed for the exhibit from Yoder Recital Hall, Bluffton University; the Rustic Decanter series, stoneware trompe l’oeil artifacts with an eye-teasing realism, complete with detachable lids and working handles; and the Fish Series, fabulous creatures of the imagination.
There will be an opening reception on Sunday, June 12, from 2 - 4 p.m. The public is invited.
