Services for Judith Ruth Augsburger will be held in Florida
Judith Ruth Augsburger, 82, of Bluffton died Aug. 2, 2016, at 2 a.m. at her residence. Judith was born Jan. 21, 1934 in Cortez, Florida, to the late John and Mamie (Bonnell) McDonald who were commercial fishermen. On Feb. 12, 1956 she married Bill Augsburger who preceded her in death on April 29, 1987.
Judith was a graduate of Cortez High School, Cortez, Florida. She was a homemaker and also had worked as a beautician and nanny. Along with her husband, Bill, they previously owned and operated the Horseshoe Bar in Bluffton. Judith had been a Sunday school teacher and Girl Scout leader.
Survivors include a daughter, April Dorman of Bluffton, Ohio; two sons, John Augsburger of North Carolina, Kevin Augsburger of Cortez, Florida; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Judith was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Sadie Brodman; a brother, Joseph McDonald; and a sister, Jacqueline Mofield.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, at Samoset First Baptist Church, 3200 15th St. E, Bradenton, Florida. Burial will be in Skyway Memorial Gardens, Palmetto, Florida. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Florida Maritime Museum, 4415 119th Street West, Cortez, Florida 34215.
