Women's Soccer drops opener 6-0 at Olivet

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team dropped a 6-0 decision at Olivet in the 2016 season opener for both squads. The Beavers stand 0-1, while Olivet opens its campaign at 1-0.
Olivet netted four tallies during a 17-minute span late in the first half before tacking on two more scores after the break. It all added up to a 6-0 shutout for the home team.
Kayla Penrod (Marysville) knocked away 10 Olivet shots while fellow freshman Courtney Davis (Richmond, MI/Richmond) added seven stops. The Comets ruled with a 38-5 advantage in shots and five corner kicks, compared to just one for the Beavers.
Bluffton returns to the pitch with a short trip to Ohio Northern on Saturday, Sept. 3. The matchup in Ada is slated for 2 p.m.
