Anderson trips up Men's Soccer 3-0

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Anderson University netted a goal in minute 17 and added a pair of unassisted goals in the second half en route to a 3-0 shutout of the Bluffton University men's soccer team on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016. The Beavers fell to 3-12 overall and 0-6 in the Heartland Conference, while Anderson improved to 8-7 and 2-4 in the HCAC.
Justin Buttorf connected with Race Williams just over 16 minutes into the match and Daniel Collins and Ruvid Morton tacked on insurance tallies in the second half as Anderson pitched the 3-0 shutout on a comfortable Wednesday afternoon. The Ravens finished with a slim 26-21 margin on shots, but a substantial 13-4 edge on corner kicks. Bluffton was whistled for three more fouls (12-9).
Grant Stutzman (Sugarcreek/Hiland) led the attack with nine shots, including two on frame. Fellow senior Matt Hardman-Zimmerman (Forest City, Penn.) collected nine saves before Chris Wagler (Leipsic/Pandora-Gilboa) added a stop with the time winding down.
Bluffton makes the long trip to Terre Haute, Ind. for a matchup with the Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers on Saturday, Oct. 22. The start time is slated for 3:30 p.m.
